Safe Journey to School - April 2019

Dear Partner:

As the December 2018 WHO published status report on Road Safety revealed unacceptable increase in the number of deaths in Liberia by 2.2%, Save Life Liberia is reinforcing its school-based road safety education campaigns among school kids in Monrovia.

Thanks to The Pollination Project for helping us create safe journey for school kids in Monrovia, Liberia. We have widened our scope from #ADVOCACY, #STREETS_PROTESTS to SAFE CROSSING FOR SCHOOL KIDS through lowscape infrastructure (CROSSWALK) and school-based Road safety education in dangerous crossing zones in Monrovia.

Five Crosswalks have been built in 5 schools around Monrovia. Our international partners, Mr. Andy Mccloughlin from the UK and Ms. Yana Tumakova, GIZ-Adviser for capacity development in the transport sector visited the project sites last week. We are very grateful to the Pollination Project Grantee Group and God for the support and inroads thus far.
